Sam Bradford welcomed Josh Rosen with a classy text

The Arizona Cardinals signed Sam Bradford to a one-year deal in March. Even after that, there was the expectation that the Cardinals would go with a quarterback in the draft. And they did, drafting Josh Rosen with the No. 10 pick.

Still, Bradford took it upon himself to welcome his future replacement to the Cardinals.

Ahead of Wednesday’s Flight Plan docuseries, the Cardinals detailed a text-message exchange between Bradford and the newly drafted Rosen.

Via azcardinals.com:

The scene plays out as Rosen and his parents and agent were being driven to the Cardinals’ Tempe facility Friday for Rosen’s introductory press conference. Rosen turns to agent Ryan Williams and says, “Sam just texted me. Bradford.” Then he reads the text.

“He said, ‘Josh, what’s up, man? Welcome to Arizona,” Rosen reads. ” ‘Just wanted to let you know that I look forward to playing with you. I’ll be an open book, so if you ever need anything or have any questions, feel free to ask. Hope all is well.'”

You can then see Rosen writing a text back.

In his introductory press conference, Rosen said that he was willing to do whatever the Cardinals needed from him. Rosen will have a chance to win the starting job over Bradford, which speaks to how Bradford handled the moment.

It was certainly a classy gesture from Bradford to quickly welcome his impending competition at quarterback.
