Serena Williams reaches Wimbledon final with dominant win

Serena Williams is just one victory away from an eighth Wimbledon singles title.

Williams made short work of her semifinal against Julia Goerges, winning 6-2, 6-4 Thursday to reach her 10th final in the grass-court major.

This is her second major, and fourth tournament overall, since Williams returned from maternity leave in March. At the French Open she reached the fourth round but withdrew from the match against Maria Sharapova because of a pectoral injury.

She will face two-time Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber in the final.  It will be a rematch of the 2016 Wimbledon final, which Williams won in straight sets. Kerber advanced with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Jelena Ostapenko in the earlier semifinal Thursday.
